Careers at Navoarch
We hire in small numbers and keep people for a long time. If you want to be involved in a project from the brief through to the site rather than in one slice of it, this is a reasonable place to work.
What it is like here
Navoarch is a small practice, so nobody spends a year drawing toilet details. A designer here will take a project from the brief through concept, drawings, approvals and onto site. That is more responsibility earlier than a large office would give you, and it comes with the expectation that you can defend a decision in front of a client or a contractor.
We work on architecture, interiors and construction together rather than as separate silos, which means you will see what happens to your drawing after it leaves your desk — the fastest way anyone learns to detail properly.
Who we usually need
Architects and architectural assistants; interior designers with real joinery detailing ability; site engineers and project managers; and 3D visualisation. We also take a small number of interns each year and give them actual project work.
What to send
A portfolio — as a PDF, or a link — and a short note about what you want to work on. Please show drawings, not only renders: plans, sections and details tell us far more about how you think than a visualisation does. If you have been on site, say what you learned there.
We do not always have an opening at the moment you write, and we keep good portfolios on file. If something fits, we will call.
